Summer

Dorms
This Summer I went to a pre-collage program at MICA--which is in Baltimore. We stayed in the dorms, which was really fun. The college students living in the dorms during the school year are allowed to paint all over the walls; however, we were not. :( I stayed there for a month. Mondays Tuesdays and Wednesdays we had our core class. I was in Rubino's Oil Painting class. On Thursdays we had our Workshop class. I had Raku. On Fridays we had Art history lectures and museum trips. On two of the Saturdays we had trips, one to Washington DC and one to NYC. The trip to NYC was amazing! Sundays we had free to do what we wanted. The picture to the right is of the Commons. (I didn't take these photos, Orli did)

The program was wonderful. The teachers and Tarcs really knew their stuff, and were so helpful. A Tarc was a MICA college student who helped out with the program. For my core class I completed four paintings of models and two self portraits. The self portraits took a long time to complete. I ended up staying up for seventy hours straight--with the help of energy drinks-- at one point. There were lots of things that pre-college students could do there. There were weekend trips to the book thing, which is were you could get books for free, there was a scavenger hunt, a game of quidditch, a talent show, dances, and lots more.  I went to the AVAM while during my stay, and it was great. If you get the chance defiantly go see it.

Talent show

A group of my friends made a band and had jam seshes all the time, a well as playing at the talent show. We also went on the scavenger hunt. Which was all over Baltimore, and super fun.

I made so many wonder friends at pre-college, and I really really really really miss them. We were thinking of trying to find the exact mid point of all of our houses and meeting there at one point for a pre-college reunion, not matter where it is.There is so much more to say about my experience at pre-college but I think I'm going to stop rambling on for now. If you have any questions about the program ask me :) and there are like a bazillion more photos from the trip. When I have Photos of my art from the program I'll post it. In other news that has nothing to do with the summer, I will probably not be at class on Monday. My Grandpa passed away, so me and my family are flying to New York this weekend. See you all when I get back!
